About

I am a Canadian artist in Calgary, Alberta, working primarily with textiles. I'm curious, eccentric and just a little opinionated. Surrealist in thought, Fauvist at heart, this is my almost daily art journal, eccentric and eclectic, explorative and absurd.

last of the year

Last Alberta Wild Rose done:

"Raggedy Rose" oak ecoprinted, potassium permanganate dyed cotton background, rose ecoprinted maple on silk twill, with hand embroidery in cotton and soy silk threads, centre thread dyed with solidago, 10x11"

And new work started:

"Ebb and Flow", first of seven panels started for dimensional free standing piece. The gorgeous indigo shibori cotton arrived at just the right moment from a dear blog friend, Heather.

As we move towards that arbitrary "everything's going to be magic because there's a flip of the calendar page" time thius evening, i wish you all the best of that flip and after!

Never did understand all the kerfluffle that goes on over a new year....never been a part of the party scene with the seemingly necessary sloppy kisses and drunken idiocy... Just plain yewww. Ah well....happy, happy anyway. (oooh - one of the verification 'words' is NESS!)
