About

I am a Canadian artist in Calgary, Alberta, working primarily with textiles. I'm curious, eccentric and just a little opinionated. Surrealist in thought, Fauvist at heart, this is my almost daily art journal, eccentric and eclectic, explorative and absurd.

casting about

Not sure what her name is yet, but she's going in a better direction than i had originally thought. My needle last night made the decision to add the fact that things have changed, some for the good, some not, but that life has moved on and for a reason.

And the last of the season's ecoprinting is in the pot right now......i'm pretty sure the "shelf life" of leaves, even kept in the fridge under wraps, is not longer than 2 months! (The osier has been in there for 3 months and the oak for 2 and a half.) I'm using the last of them and we'll see if it was worth the fabric.....

The ones above were done last week, and the osier on its own is rather weak. A lovely honey caramel toasty colour but not that smashing as a print. I do like the japanese maple resist though!

Because it is then the last of the season, i am having a sale in the shop. Enter code WINCL and save 20% on all fabrics, shipping as always, included.

On another pesky note, Squarespace has been having a LOT of problems in the last 2 months. Photos get glitch rejected, pages won't open, site won't load and i'm pretty pissed off again at the platform, a platform i am PAYING for. I'll be double posting here and at the old blog on WordPress, and seriously thinking about where i want this job of documenting the work and the process to go.

Didn't know that you had to pay for squarespace - more ignorance on my part. I can understand your POism at it not working! ps. like the last piece of fabric a lot.
